In this Leadpages Review, I will show you what this easy to use landing page tool can do for you and – what it can’t.
I will also go through the leadpages pricing options, main features, and some of the lesser known ones to show you what you can do with this tool.
At the end I will give you an overview of some of the weaknesses of the tool, to ensure you don’t buy the wrong tool for your business.
So let’s dive into LeadPages and see what this ever-growing tool can do for you!
If you have not heard of Leadpages before, then let me give you a quick rundown of what it’s all about.
Basically, the Leadpages team have created an easy to use tool for building stylish and high converting landing pages, as well as providing other conversion tools to help get you more leads for your business.
If you are not at all technical, don’t worry. Leadpages is very simple to use. No tech skills required.
Leadpages is really intended for almost all kinds of lead page creation.
And the focus is on fast and simple.
I often create a new lead page in 5 minutes, and most of the time is spent thinking of what to write, not actually editing the page.
It will help you create stylish pages for your website such as:
Here are a couple of example pages to show you how visually appealing the pages are:
And the pages are mobile responsive too. So your customers will be to view these pages on any device! Mobile, Tablet, PC, etc.
Leadpages offers very high-converting templates (they have templates from people using the tool like Patt Flynn, James Schramko who have tested these pages a lot).
On some of my pages I am geting up to 40% conversion (ie. email sign-ups) so that is quite impressive when the web standard is a lot lower.
The Leadpages team also constantly test, so they know which pages are working for all their customers and they rank them higher so you know too.
Leadpages is a really simple tool to use. It will only take you a few minutes to learn how to build your pages.
You basically:
Check out this video if you want to see a demonstration.
The only thing that takes any time is the few minutes you need to set up the WordPress Plugin (they provide this for you to connect your lead pages to WordPress).
Of course, that is assuming you use WordPress. If you do not, then read the next section – Where can I use LeadPages.
I have a video to show you how to setup Leadpages with WordPress too.
There are a lots of simple ways to publish/use your Leadpages:
So there are lots of options. And all of them are very simple to use.
It usually only takes about 2-3 clicks to publish a page.
You are probably wondering what email (and webinar) services can you integrate with Leadpages? This is obviously quite important.
If your email service is not listed, don’t worry because there is a simple copy and paste you can use from your email provider to LeadPages.
So they should all work. If you have issues, LeadPages support is there to help.
Here is a quick list from their website:
Email Marketing Services
Webinar services
There are lots of other useful features inside Leadpages apart from just the page building tools.
These are simply popups with optin forms that are launched from an image, button or link on your site.
Just create them like a Leadpage and them copy the code and you can get optins from anywhere on your website.
This is really handy for inserting calls to action all over your site and pages.
And often they get as high, or higher conversions than the Lead Pages themselves.
You can also use a Leadpage to capture leads directly from your Facebook page.
This is great because you can get new subscribers without even getting them to leave Facebook. (Facebook users don’t like leaving Facebook)
You can also combine this with Facebook likes. So if you visitor on Facebook is not convinced to optin, you get a like instead. This gives you a chance to connect with them again later.
And many of the LeadPages templates are made to encourage this via an arrow pointing to the “like” button.
Of course you can turn off that arrow, like in anyLead Page – just click “Hide”. And it’s gone.
And again, it is a simple process:
Here is a leadpages video showing you how simple it is.
Another great feature they offer is the ability to deliver your giveaway easily via during the opt-in process.
You can also create multiple pages and have different giveaways, and all the subscribers going to the same list (or not). It is that flexible.
I currently use this for my podcast. Each episode I get people to subscribe for a copy of the pdf transcript. Each week it is a different pdf of course.
So I just copy the template, upload the pdf. Publish it and link it to my podcast post. It saves me hours of work and gets me more optins/leads.
I am sure you can find a way to use this to get more leads from your website too.
No lead generation system would be complete if we did not know how many people are visiting the page and converting.
Lead pages offers a very simple analytics interface to give you an overview of how each page is doing in terms of visits and conversions.
Although their charts are not the best I have seen, they give you all the numbers clearly displayed for each page and split test.
A/B Split Testing
This is also a must-have feature if you want to be able to do split tests for your pages or LeadBoxes.
You can either:
Either of these is simple to set up via a button on the top of each lead page.
Once the test has shown a clear winner, you select that one. And then tweak something else.
Always improving your pages.
The Split Testing is one of the few features that is currently only available to Pro members.
So if you need it – go Pro. And I recommend you do.
These are great little links you can embed anywhere (in an email for example) to make opting in easy for new offers to your existing subscribers.
Why would you want that?
Say you are offering a new video course or webinar and want to create a separate list in order to inform people of related information, dates etc.
Instead of getting a subscriber to optin again, they can just click the link and are automatically added to the new list.
This is one of the the other feature you need to be a Pro Member for.
Leadpages has recently released a new Enterprise Level account for people who plan on using Leadpages a lot.
On top of the pro account it includes specific phone support and coaching to help you make the most of Leadpages.
For example:
The Enterprise account costs $30 more per month.

Getting back to the templates on Leadpages, I just wanted to mention a couple of other things you can do.
When selecting a template, you can sort by best converting, because they keep stats on which pages work the best. So you can always use the current best converting template for your site.
If you do not find the template you like, you can also upload a template and use it in the leadpages system as a Custom Template.
As I mentioned before, Clay and his team are always adding new features and improvements.
Now they have come up with a concept for an open market place where the top designers can sell their best templates to existing customers.
So in the future you will have access to not only Clay and his team’s templates (which keeps on growing), but other amazing options at reasonable prices.
The offer is not set yet, so I can only tell you what I know. But the idea is awesome. Access to top developers for new pages at low prices!
As of August 2014 Leadpages has released a new feature that heavy users of Leadpages will be very excited to have: Leadpages Sub Accounts.
Basically the new feature allows you to create completely separate accounts of Leadpages to manage your lead pages, lead boxes etc.
For example, if you have a customer who you want to create lead pages for, this is the perfect way to separate their pages from yours.
But it is actually better than that. You can also create a specific URL and login, so your customer can also access their own Leadpages.
And they won’t be able to access yours. But you can see both accounts.
So if you want to separate and manage clients lead pages this is perfect.
If you have a Leadpages Pro Account, you get one FREE sub account. And Enterprise account gets two free sub accounts. Otherwise, all additional sub accounts are $40 per sub account.
This feature can also be used for your own lead pages if you wish to separate specific websites or email accounts. And there are lots of other uses.
If you want to see Leadpages specific video on this feature, you can watch that here.
No product is perfect. So let’s do a quick overview of the minor things I did not like in Leadpages:
If you are interested in promoting Leadpages affiliate program, then you might want to read this article I wrote specifically on that.
As a web designer myself, I am super impressed with the quality and ease of use of Leadpages.
If you are looking for a way to make quick, stylish and mobile friendly landing pages, from high converting templates – Leadpages is for you.
It is so easy and fast, once you spend 30 minutes playing with it, you will be creating pages in no time.
