Privacy pages are a pain. I used to use a free site to construct them, but they all seem to go paid at some point.
I am in the process of doing a course at the moment and the instructor mentioned this one https://www.iubenda.com/en/features for such things.
I believe you can get a free license for personal use, so you might be good to go.

I would avoid plugins for such things, as it seems like the wrong fit to me. Privacy is a page, and needs text. That text is easy to add to a page and put a link in your footer.
It is the creation of the text that is tough and that link above should help.

I am a newbie, just set up a blogging site through trial and error, googling for a lot of “How-To’s” videos, getting confused, overwhelmed and drained! First it was themes that was bothering me, then it was widgets, then it was plug-ins, now it’s everything that’s got me wondering and guessing!

I picked up a lot of tips from this post, honestly! You are undoubtedly an expert at this, so I’ll be here often!

Dare I ask you a question? Will you respond? On advice from someone I downloaded a free plug-in “Auto Terms of Service & Privacy Policy” where you just fill in some blanks and it’s all done. But I’m in Canada and this plug-in has reference to USA legal clauses.

Then, from a YouTube tutorial of Jan 2015, there seemed such an easy plug-in, “WP-Insert”, with more generic privacy policy content. But I just couldn’t find this when I go to “Add Plug-ins” on my WordPress site. Is it because this is not FREE or because this may be discontinued?

Any suggestions/advice for a Privacy Policy plug-in would be tremendously appreciated.

It is very much a problem installing 30+ plugins, but we have all been there. And as you say, with experience comes wisdom and the plugin addiction decreases.

Awesome article you’ve got here that evokes very strong and fond memories.

When I was a newbie, there was nothing I loved better than installing new plugins. For every new functionality I saw, I always looked for a plugin for it…till I had over 30 and they began their earnest fight and clashes 🙂

Today, I have turned pro and these are but memories. However, it’s a good idea thinking back, laughing and knowing that newbies will read such an awesome article as yours and would not be led astray (like I was).

Not again.

I’m really clear on the difference between a plugin and widget… although in the roundup post Ashley recently put together, I erroneously referred to a plugin as a widget… and that quote made it on to his infographic. So I’m forever branded as not knowing the difference, even though I swear I do! lol

What a great explanation of what plugins are. I know for anyone just coming on the scene or perhaps isn’t exactly familiar with what they are or what they do will appreciate this post. I do and I’ve been blogging for years now.

I remember being confused about what a widget was and then why did you need plugins. I know some people really go nuts with them and think they are so cool but we both know that adding way too many that really have no purpose but to make things cool isn’t the best decision to make.

I know that if anyone needs help with their blogs that you definitely know your stuff. I’m glad you wrote this post and I’ll be sure to share it as well.
