Great post. The thing about it is content that’s of the highest quality is important.You’re right. We can’t be a Seth Godin and write a 5 minute post or a 100 word post. We have to give our audience what they expect from us … and usually that’s detailed, informative posts.

I agree with the freshness part but you should only do what you’re capable of doing without sabotaging yourself. I’m only able to manage 1 post a week because I want to spend the necessary time to promote my content, etc. That means I have to make sure my content each with if of the highest quality and exceeds my standards.

I can’t disagree anymore. Content and SEO are two major things that will help us grow the business online. Great content will lead us to better SEO reach that end to targeted visitors.

Like I always say, SEO is just the icing on the cake when it comes to your content. Either way it goes, you must have great content. More important, you want it so that your visitors can relate to it as well as gain some value from it.

The list you had for what’s high quality content really did it for me! Earlier this year, I started writing longer posts, checked grammar and spelling a little more, and shared links and videos of others. This helped to keep my visitors on my site longer and gave them a reason to write a more sincere comment. Google loved it, and push me up the ranks more!

We do need to optimize our posts with the basic SEO, but most importantly ensure that the content we write is good and helpful to our readers, such that they keep coming back, asking for more. I am glad that SEO isn’t the same it was sometime back, and with Google’s frequent changes, it’s best to use it in variation, isn’t it? Google Keywords is all that I use and you are right, many phrases that you don’t even target, rank so well, so one cannot only depend on SEO – it’s your content that really matters.

Yes, you need to build relationships with fellow bloggers and keep the engagement alive, besides having a strong social media presence – it all has to work together. 🙂

Fresh content is definitely a “yes yes!” to Google and to people as well. I liked the idea of comparing it with fresh food 🙂

And then last but not the least – consistency! Keep that content coming. Yo Yo people don’t go very far. You have to be consistent and persist even when you find it challenging to stay consistent. That’s the key to success and a major differentiation between those who make it happen and those who don’t.
