So many businesses do not realise they will lose potential customers to their competitors, but if they are busy, then I guess it is ok.
But they could be doing so much more!

You are completely right.
The web has empowered so many people to start a business with ease.
Of course that means we have a little more competition right now, but you have to get out there and try.
And it does not have to be expensive as you say. A blog can be hosted for a few dollars a month with a free theme.
So cost is no barrier!

The first thing a person do when he is going to buy a thing or taking a service is to look at their website and then do some dig up. But if you don’t have a website then you will definitely gonna lose that customer.
SO Aussie its really a great article and every business should have a website.
But the mostly the small business owners didn’t give that enough thought and they remain small.

You are right that things have now entirely changed. Offline marketing is still there but does not have as broad outreach as the online could have easily. Secondly you can start your online business with $200 if you are a blogger and can earn more than $1000 per month after a few months hard work. I don’t think any other business has that much earning potential with meager investment.
Most important point is your blog is the most perfect proof of your online presence and your online activities. You can get several types of clients without much effort if you have an awesome blog related to your field of expertise.

You could not be more right Naomi, but surprisingly very small or local businesses often do not have a website.
It is not seen as important enough.
I guess if you are happily running a business without one, then I can understand.
But they are missing out for sure
