Hi Ashley,

Loved the tango analogy!! 😀 I used to do ballroom dancing and the tango is one of the hardest dance I’ve ever known. It’s intense. And if you’re a natural on having a serious face, tango is the right dance for you. However, my favorite ones are the cha-cha and salsa.

You know ever since I changed my child theme, my mobile traffic have tremendously increased even higher than my desktop viewers. And so yeah, your website DESIGN is very important. If you have a crappy looking website, it’s very difficult to build trust.

Someof my clients came from social engagement. If you have a lousy looking website, specially if you’re a Designer, people are just going to say, “Well, gee…if he can’t even create a stunning website, I’ll be damned if he touch mine.” As a Designer our website should be the best looking of all the websites out there!

Design, speed, color balance, and the choice of font are all important factors in creating a stunning website. Anyway, it’s getting way too late here. It’s 2:29am here. So tatah for now…

Yes I agree web design is very important. It is the first thing that people see and is a reflection of who you and your business are.

I do not know how you go about protecting such a name, but something like trademark is perhaps the way to go.
At least by using it everywhere you will have a claim to it if it comes to that in the future.

Hi Ashley; another solid post full of good information for the beginning site owner or for someone planning to get their first website. by the way my site has my company name and logo on it, but how about branding my nick name? do you have any suggestions for my claiming and protecting mr. midway and or mistermidway? I use it as my blog signature. And I’m trying to change my google plus and youtube to it as well. I’m even thinking of having some t-shirts made up with it. And for anyone reading these comments, ashley has been a big help to this blind blogger and site owner. Hi Ashley. Totally agree with you Design matter a lot. Unfortunately most of websites are poor in Design and even more in Contents. There are indeed loads of benefits to a great design. And sometimes it takes a lot of skill and hard work to get there!
And that google loves us for it too, is perfect.
The infographic is loading ok, not sure what the issue is on your end. What OS and browser are you running?

Hi Ashley,

Excellent write up on design aspect of websites. On-page SEO is absolutely important for ranking and didn’t we hear Google’s recent updates where they said that your ranking is going down if you have too much ads running on-fold?

So yes, a good design is not only good for human eyes, even Google prefers that 🙂 How awesome!
By the way, your infographic isn’t visible to me. Not sure if it’s my browser or is it your post. But just wanted to bring it to your attention.
