Of course you are right Jessica. The big money tools are often the best for a reason, but when you only need 10% of the functionality, why pay that much. GIMP is a lifesaver!

Hi Kelly. Sounds like you are used to being creative! Lots of these tools are similar in power to Photoshop, but a little more limited. GIMP is pretty close. It is part of the Open Source community which is quite a geeky thing, so if you are not working in IT, maybe you never heard of it. There are others like Open Office instead of Microsoft office and so on. The world is full of free, great tools crazy huh!

One of my favorite courses in school was a design class where we learned how to use Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to create and manipulate pictures. Doing this is so much fun and can add a lot of creativity to your website and you can create images that are your own.
